A somewhat belated announcement, but I wanted to make sure it doesn't pass you by: I have a podcast! Friend of the newsletter Steven Santana invited me to start a new show on movies, and it is now under way. Mise en Screen has us taking a look at one new(ish) movie each episode, with each of us also watching an older film that relates to it and trying to guess what the other picked. The show currently lives here and is available on Spotify, with more podcast services adding it over time.

Our test episode, where we get to know each other's tastes via our Letterboxd Top 4, is now live. Our first proper episode, about the new Ari Aster film Eddington, drops this Thursday. Without giving anything away, my take on the movie really benefited from the back-and-forth of a casual discussion rather than committing to my hot take in writing. The format complements the longform deep-dives I tend to do here, and I get to talk about more movies as a result. Everyone wins!
